Week 1: Blow drying/Volume Hair

Equipment:
Hairdryer
Ceramic rounded brush- vent brush holes all the way through brush doesn’t get to hot.
Demin brush- more advanced

Product:
Mouse
Water spray
Route boost
Serum/wax/putty
Spray shine- coloured dull hair to finish

When blow drying the last 10% of wetness gives the structure to the hair, if the models hair is completely wet give a rough dry to reduced the wetness to the last 10% then apply the product this further doesn’t dilute the product unlike if it were to be applied onto very wet hair.

Step 1:
Create a very clean straight section that’s not to thick this is important when dong a blow dry. If on dry hair apply water a mouse to the route. Make sure you have decided on the parting previously to starting the blow dry.

Step 2:
High heat and High power, put the brush directly under the section at the route to create tension the hair should not be slack! Face the hair dryer under the section and over keeping the hair and hair dryer high. Never letting go of the hairdryer use it to catch under the section to re place your brush. Once route is dry style the rest of the section to desired look pulling the hair with the brush.

Step 3:

To check section is dry gently pinch section at route if hot its fine if cold needs to dry some more. Don’t touch the section until cool at the end you can blend in the sections to one another and style.

I found that once i got the rhythm of the moment i became very confident with the technique although i did have a model with short hair i feel i need to practice this on a long haired model.
